Coastal Pathway
The Caloundra coastline is a natural and recreational focus for both residents and visitors.
One completed, the Coastal Pathway will provide a continuous link from Bells Creek to Golden Beach and north to Point Cartwright.
Council is enhancing this feature to maximise its potential as a valuable recreational resource. The Coastal Pathway:
- recognises and enhances the character, history and social values of Caloundra
- is environmentally sustainable
- accommodates present and future community needs

Coastal Pathway maps and signage
For detailed Coastal Pathway maps, see Walk, Cycle, Play! A Guide to Caloundra City's bikeways, pathways and parks. You can download Walk, Cycle, Play! or pick up a copy from Libraries, Visitor Information Centres or Customer Service Centres.
You can also view copies of the signs displayed along the Coastal Pathway from Bells Creek to Golden Beach and north to Point Cartwright.
Each sign shows a section of the Coastal Pathway map and includes "you are here" boxes. These boxes indicate where you will find the signs along the Coastal Pathway.
The Coastal Pathway maps are correct at the time of development and are subject to change.

Background
In December 2001, Council commissioned Stephen Pate Landscape Architects to prepare the Caloundra Coastal Walk Master Plan.
The purpose of the Master Plan is to:
- guide development of any future pathway works along the coastline
- identify key nodes along the walkway
- identify potential links to other significant locations within Caloundra
The pathway provides an exceptional recreational and tourism opportunity for residents and visitors.
The Coastal Pathway will also make up the Caloundra City section of the proposed Sunshine Coastal Pathway.
This initiative of the Sunshine Coast Regional Organisation of Councils (SunROC) is planned to be a world-class scenic pathway, spanning the spectacular coastline of Caloundra City and Maroochy and Noosa shires.
