Business permits and licences (Toolbox)

Council is committed to helping you build and operate a better, fully compliant business.

To reduce the compliance burden and cost of compliance for business, South East Queensland councils have standarised information and requirements relating to business permits, licences, approvals and registration.

Toolbox, a one-stop-shop for small and home-based businesses to access application forms, fact sheets, case studies and training, is now available. At this stage, Toolbox is specifically for environmental health and some local law activities.

Visit the Toolbox website for comprehensive information to help you build and operate your business, with the following types of information available:

  • Advertising signs
  • Camping and caravan parks
  • Commercial swimming pools
  • Entertainment venues and events (including temporary events and weddings on Council land)
  • Environmentally relevant activities
  • Film production
  • Flammable and combustible liquids
  • Food premises
  • Food remises - fixed
  • Food premises - mobile
  • Food premises - temporary
  • Footpath dining
  • Home based businesses
  • Personal appearance services (including tattooing and body piercing)
  • Rental accommodation (including bed and breakfast, host farms, holiday cabins and backpacker hostels)
  • Roadside vending (including mobile vendors and roadside stalls)
